The ‘Hermann Days’, celebrated on 30th and 31st May, were clearly among the event highlights of the Varus Year. In glorious sunshine numerous artists took part in this great family celebration.

Various elements contributed to the success of the event: after the resonant voices of the Young Tenors, Hermann in Ice and a great children’s programme had offered an expressionist start, later, in the dark, FLASH ART provided brilliant fireworks against the backdrop of the Hermann Monument, including illuminations and a colourful light and fire spectacle.
Like professional logistics, a creative and technically competent implementation is crucial for the event to develop its unusual atmosphere. ‘It’s not coincidence but meticulous planning,’ says FLASH ART’s Klaus Freyer. ‘At live-events we always have only one chance to capture the audience’.
The flame installations, colourful cascades of sparks, and countless explosions in the night sky riveted people to their seats. FLASH ART is proud to have been part of an exciting event of the ‘Hermann Days’ and to have helped to bring history into the present.
